Profiling Heads

Our profiling heads are another economical way of using standard carbide inserts for a profiling / shaping operation. Available in 5 standard widths. For pattern shaping use bearing AC117. Made with 1-1/4" bore. Bushings available for other sizes.

SCHure-CUT - True Helical Carbide Insert Surfacing Head

For Quieter, Smoother and Cleaner Surfacing, nothing cuts like our new SCHure-Cut Insert Heads. Milled and ground on the latest state of the art CNC machinery, this new patented cutter head is designed to reduce noise and produce a superior surface finish and give you the convenience of insert tooling. Tested against two popular surfacing tools, research shows that the new SCHure-Cut Head is the quietest surfacing head you can put on your moulder. Plus the slicing action of the True Helical cutting edge produces an extremely smooth finish. Test cut was 3/32" deep, 100fpm, 4" wide, 6000 rpm. 3 wing and 6 wing heads also available.

Surfacing Heads

Made from aircraft aluminum, these heads are an excellent way to reduce noise and horsepower needed in your moulding operation. They use solid carbide 4 sided inserts mounted in a staggered, spiral pattern which in most cases, depending on the machinery, can produce a line free finish. Inserts can be replaced or rotated on or off the machine. Feed speeds can also be increased due to the reduced cutting pressure. Can also be made for profiling and pattern shaping. Please specify bore size when ordering. Diameter always stays the same requiring minimal set up time. Made with either straight or hydro-Lock bores. Effective number of cutting teeth is half the number of wings.

Tenon Heads

Made from aircraft aluminum these convenient to use insert tenon heads can be made for any single or double end tenoner. Staggered tooth design makes less noise and requires less horsepower. Four sided solid carbide inserts and spurs are rotated as they become dull. Set screw mounting is available. Effective number of cutting teeth is half the number of wings. Please specify bore size when ordering.

Rebating Heads

These cutters are ideal for applications where constant diameter is important. The use of industry standard carbide inserts make this tool inexpensive and easy to use. The spurs insure clean, smooth cuts, even in cross grain applications. They are an excellent choice for moulder side heads in straight cut (S4S) applications. Cutters are stocked in bore sizes listed. Tools can be bored or manufactured with other bore sizes for a nominal charge.

Stackable Surfacing Heads

Our Stackable heads are another economical way of using standard carbide inserts for a surfacing operation. Available in 30mm and 50mm widths these heads stack on the arbor to the desired length. • Always maintains same diameter. • Change knives right on the machine. • Double sided carbide knives. • For horizontal or vertical heads.

Adjustable Groovers

Our adjustable groovers come complete with spurs for smooth cutting with and across the grain. Spacers supplied with the tool allow for fine adjustment of grooves up to 1-1/4" deep. Depth varies from 1-1/4" to 1-3/8."

Adjustable Angle Cutter

This is the most versatile indexible angle cutter available. Infinitely adjustable using an allen key from -90° to +90° with a vernier scale for accurate adjustment. This unit uses standard 50mm double sided solid carbide inserts, CAT.NO. INKS250.

Dedicated Insert & Flooring Cutters

DEDICATED heads are ideal for patterns which incorporate a tongue and groove detail. Knife inserts are supported completely by the profiled body of the tool and no additional backing plates are required. Standard gibs are included but profiled gibs are recommended for stile and rail knives.

Panel Raising Insert Cutters

Our new Dual Profile Panel Raising Cutters are each made to support and cut two different patterns. Three body contours, 6 wood profiles available. 6" diameter, 1-1/4" bore, 15° hook, 10° shear. A 2-1/2" bearing (CAT.NO. AC111) is used for pattern shaping. C-4 carbide inserts stand up to today’s tough to cut materials. Standard rotation in counter clockwise rotation cutting over the wood. Order body for corresponding insert. Inserts not included in body price. Precision machined and ground on the latest CNC equipment.

Stile & Rail Insert Cutters

Manufactured to precision tolerances, these alloy steel bodies can accommodate any of the six profiles shown without backer plates. Using the stile cutter to cut the pattern cuts and the rail cutter to cut the cope cut, these cutters produce a perfect fit every time. All inserts are ground to same center line for ease of set up. Carbide or S-Alloy tips are available for cutting all types of woods and man made materials. All inserts are 30mm wide to accommodate material thicknesses from 3/4" to 1". Inserts are not included in cost of bodies. Cutters are made to run in a counter clockwise rotation with the wood face down. Sharpening of inserts is not recommended. Custom profiles as per your request.
